2025 Conference Ticket Terms & Conditions

GENERAL

  1. These terms and conditions (“terms”) govern the relationship between Adopt Change Limited (“us/we/our”) and you as the conference delegate (“you”) for tickets purchased to attend the 2025 National Foster & Kinship Care Conference: Empowering Carers to Transform Lives (“event”).
  2. These terms and conditions can be varied by us in our sole discretion.
  3. The laws of New South Wales apply to any disputes and we require that you contact us at first instance to try and mediate any dispute before taking any further action. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New South Wales to determine any matter or dispute which arises under these terms.
  4. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to these terms and conditions.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

  1. All event tickets are purchased as is and are not generally transferable, however, upon request, we can arrange for a name change for an event ticket. If you would like another person to use your ticket, please contact us at conferences@adoptchange.org.au.
  2. We are unable to issue refunds or accept cancellation of tickets.
  3. If, in our sole discretion, we cancel the event, we will contact you within 14 calendar days to arrange a refund of your ticket cost. You agree that this is the only remedy available to you if you have purchased tickets, even if you have paid for flights, accommodation or other travel costs.
  4. We do not allow shared registrations. Each registration allows admittance of one person only.
  5. Professionals tickets are for child welfare professionals, government and agency staff, academics, therapists, policy makers and other professionals.
  6. Those with a lived experience of the out of home care system as well as foster & kinship carers, pre-adoptive/adoptive carers, permanent carers and legal guardians can purchase tickets to attend the event at a discounted price, however, when purchasing your ticket you must provide us with some proof of your lived experience. We will treat your information sensitively and confidentially. Based on the information you provide to us, we will determine, at our sole discretion, if you are eligible for the discounted ticket. If we do not think you have a lived experience, we can cancel your purchase and will refund you in full.

GENERAL DISCLAIMER

  1. Whilst all care has been taken in preparing the program and schedule of speakers, we do not warrant any of the content set out in the program information contained on the conference website including the timing, speakers and program.
  2. Details of speakers and topics are correct at the time of going to press. However, circumstances beyond our control may necessitate substitutions of speakers and topics for which we cannot be held responsible. All speakers and items contained in the program are subject to change without notice.
  3. We reserve the right to make changes to the conference program without notice but will use our best endeavours to arrange new and relevant speakers.

LIABILITY

  1. We are not liable for non-delivery of services and we accept no responsibility for loss of monies or damages incurred by you. In the event that you try to attribute any liability to us, that liability shall be limited to the value of your ticket only.
  2. We are not responsible in any way for your travel to and from the event and your accommodation for the event. The ticket supplied by us is for the conference event only and all other arrangements must be made by you.

PRIVACY

  1. Your registration details will be shared with the conference organisers for purpose of communicating program details, preparing for the event and sending any material post the event. All information will be stored in accordance with Australian privacy laws.
  2. By registering for the conference you give us permission to record/photograph you for use in our publications (online and print), website and other promotional material. If you do not consent to your recordings or photographs being used, please contact us at conferences@adoptchange.org.au and we will ensure that your recordings/photos are excluded from our database.
  3. We are committed to protecting your privacy online. That is why we have adopted a policy that provides the information you need to make fully informed decisions about providing any personal information to us. We will not resell or disclose your information to third parties and will not sell, rent, loan, trade or lease any personal information collected at this site. CONDUCT, ATTENDANCE AND AGE RESTRICTIONS

  1. At various points during the event, including during breakout sessions you may have the opportunity to interact with other participants. You are required at all times to be polite, respectful and considerate of others. In doing so, you acknowledge that there are differing views and opinions and that we have an obligation to ensure our event is a safe space for our employees, volunteers and event participants.
  2. If in our sole opinion, you breach our conduct requirements in any way whatsoever, you may be asked to leave the event and you will not be entitled to any refund.
  3. Some of the material presented at the conference is not suitable for minors under 18 years of age. Accordingly, attendance at the event is strictly limited to individuals aged 18 years and over. By registering for and attending the event, participants confirm that they are at least 18 years of age. We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any person who is found to be underage, without refund.
  4. If you plan to bring an infant in your care to the conference, please be aware of the following:
    • Some presenters do not permit children in their sessions, so you may not be able to attend those sessions with your infant.
    • Sessions need to remain quiet so delegates can hear the speakers. If your infant becomes unsettled or noisy, you may be asked to step out of the room.
    • We will inform delegates if a childcare facility becomes available on-site for the duration of the conference.
