Adopt Change appoints CEO

Adopt Change Chairman John O’Neill today announced the appointment of Ms Jane Hunt as the organisation’s CEO. Jane joins Adopt Change from her current role as the CEO of the highly effective not-for-profit organisation Fitted for Work.

“We are pleased to welcome Jane to join our cause to effect change in the world of adoption as we work to improve the lives of children all over the world. Jane’s commitment to Fitted for Work demonstrates the expertise that we believe will enable Adopt Change to grow and have an even more significant leadership role in improving the lives of vulnerable children,” said John O’Neill on the announcement.

Deborra-lee Furness, the Adopt Change Founder, said: “I’m personally really excited to have someone of Jane’s integrity, passion and leadership join our small organisation. I feel confident she has the right skills to lead us as we work with authorities across Australia and, in fact, around the world to effect the change we need in the legal and bureaucratic environment to serve the children who need us to be successful for their future welfare.”

Jane has been recognised both globally and locally for her track record as a social entrepreneur. In 2012 she was awarded ‘Outstanding Social Entrepreneur’ by the Schwab Foundation and now participates in World Economic Forum events. In 2011 she received the Victorian Telstra Business Women’s Award for Innovation. As the CEO of Fitted for Work, she has lead the growth of the organisation over the last six years. It has now helped more than 16,000 women who have experienced disadvantage get work and keep it.

On joining Adopt Change, Jane said: “I am excited at the prospect of bringing about positive change for vulnerable children. There is nothing better than helping children find loving stable families so that they can grow and flourish.” Jane will join the organisation in early November in time for National Adoption Awareness Week 2014.
